In its latest edition of the “Most Influential Business Leaders Revamping the Future in 2024, The Silicon Leaders features Scott Pierson, Chairman and President at the Zeal Mission Society. By combining personal experiences with a global perspective, Scott’s leadership fosters open communication and sustainable change while exhibiting humility and purpose in the face of global issues.

Scott became somewhat of an existentialist after losing his mother to cancer. Later, after finding his emotional strength, he founded Zeal Mission Society to bring help to poor communities around the world. As the chairman and president of Zeal Mission Society, Scott juggles between these responsibilities and builds the legacy of the organization, with the support of his family and friends.
Scott stresses the need for self-awareness, spending time around self-aware peers, and promoting innovation through constructive debate and opinion diversity. He¦s also talking about the chore of navigating cultural transformation and creating accountability in teams, especially on the road beyond the post-Christian world and what that means: “Building a team, a culture at work, and embracing accountability when Christianity isn’t being followed anymore.” Organizations will learn to grow into adoption together, growing together and doing so toward thriving through an accent of honesty and value from truth.
Scott believes one needs self-awareness, spends time with peer groups that have self-awareness, and encourages innovative ideas to come through constructive debate and diversity of opinion. He also talks about the challenge of the cultural shift and accountability creation in teams, particularly in a post-Christian world, where Christianity no longer binds people. In this way, an institution can learn to grow and thus thrive in the world through an emphasis on honesty and truth-centred values.
The decision-making processes and strategic plans of Zeal Mission Society are all based on its core mission of seeking to honour God by offering care that is biblically based and positively influences the community culture. Leadership is an act of trust, humility, and flexibility, which sees a blending of purposes and partnerships, harnessed into collaboration to spark innovation. Upon these three markers, the organisation allocates the team’s collective energies toward motivation and focus.
Scott encourages those with leadership aspirations to study their motivations by examining God and others. He believes that they can influence culture and build circles of people with similar motivation. Zeal Mission Society’s activities are about building spiritual growth as well as innovation by focusing on prayer and meditation to understand God and others while helping communities move toward a better example of truth.
